Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts Overview

First Impressions

I’ll be honest — nothing really prepares you for arriving at Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts. You’re whisked away by boat to this private motu (that’s a small coral island, if you’re wondering), and suddenly you’re in this five-star luxury bubble floating in the most impossibly blue lagoon I’ve ever seen. The overwater suites stretch out like wooden lily pads, and you can actually hear the water lapping underneath your feet as you walk the jetties.

The Overwater Experience

Each room here is essentially its own private sanctuary — I mean, you’re literally living above the lagoon with a glass floor panel where you can watch tropical fish swimming below while you’re having your morning coffee. The Tahitian-style architecture feels authentic without being kitschy, and honestly, the bathrooms are something else entirely (outdoor rain showers overlooking the water, if you can believe it). What really got me was how quiet everything is — just ocean sounds and the occasional distant laughter from other guests.

Dining and Amenities

The main restaurant sits right on the water, and they do this fantastic mix of French technique with local Polynesian ingredients — the poisson cru is probably the best I had during my entire stay in French Polynesia. There’s also a spa where they use traditional Polynesian treatments (the monoi oil massage is incredible), though I spent most of my time just lounging on my private deck. The staff somehow manages to appear whenever you need something without ever making you feel watched.

Activities and Location

Here’s what’s clever about this place — they’ve got all the luxury resort amenities, but they also understand that people come here for the horses. The equestrian center offers these amazing beach rides where you’re literally cantering through shallow lagoon water with Mount Otemanu from nearby Bora Bora rising up in the distance. You know what surprised me though? How good the snorkeling is right from your suite — the coral gardens here are still pretty healthy, and I saw more fish species than I could count.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t a cheap vacation, but if you’re going to splurge on overwater luxury in Tahiti, this place gets it right. The combination of horseback riding and that classic overwater bungalow experience feels pretty unique — I haven’t found it anywhere else. Plus, being on a private motu means you get that exclusive feeling without the crowds you might find at some of the bigger resorts. The boat transfers to the main island are seamless when you want to explore, but honestly, I found myself not wanting to leave the property much at all.

The staff is the best, they are pure warmth and very friendly.
Our private beach room was very comfortable, clean, large, and cultural (gorgeous art and design). It is quiet and zero mosquito issues in the room.
***Crystal clean beaches filled with sea creatures and a extraordinary magnificent natural lagoon where there is much to explore and see.
***Vibe of this island is happiness
Overall clean resort, they kept the original gorgeous trees all over the property and it feels authentic and cultural. Hanging bananas and exotic fruits and flowers like a paradise.
***They have a coconut bar! I drank so many coconuts. As well as a ice cream shop with exotic flavors. Food here is delicious and there are many options.

Our Christmas celebration here was amazing, the dancing was magical and the food was excellent and the champagne was perfect.

Shout out to David the fire dancer he is a great person. Shout to the director and hotel staff for being absolutely wonderful.

I'll forever have beautiful memories of this place and my honeymoon.

This was our third visit to this amazing resort. We love it so much we brought 4 other couples with us to experience this paradise. They all fell in love just as us and plan to return soon. Thank you once again for your exceptional service and overwhelming kindness.

Very friendly staff and the overwater villa is amazing. We had a really great time. Will definitely come come back. Food is also good. People complain unnecesarry about the transport from Raistea airport but they offer a free shuttle from Taha'a island.

Beautiful location,gorgeous rooms.

What could be improved: There is nothing around it so you have to eat at one of the 3 restaurants of the resort, that’s a bit restrictive.

Absolutely everything: the location is stunning, the gardens manicured, but, overall, the staff is fantastic. The resort is not too big, extremely peaceful and private.

Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts is a hidden gem in French Polynesia — intimate, authentic, and utterly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived by boat, we felt transported to another world: a private island surrounded by turquoise lagoons, lush gardens, and the scent of vanilla carried on the breeze.

Our overwater villa at the very end of the pontoon was nothing short of magical, offering complete privacy and panoramic views of the lagoon, the reef, and the silhouette of Bora Bora on the horizon. Every sunrise and sunset from our deck felt like a masterpiece painted just for us.

The resort itself blends luxury with authenticity. The restaurants offered refined Polynesian and international cuisine, and dining under the stars on this private island felt beyond special. The coral gardens just steps away from our villa are among the best snorkeling spots we’ve ever experienced — alive with tropical fish, rays, and colorful corals.

What truly sets Le Taha’a apart, though, is the people. The staff were warm, genuine, and always attentive, going above and beyond to ensure every moment of our stay was unforgettable.

Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts is not just a hotel — it is an island of dreams. If Bora Bora shines with glamour, Taha’a radiates soul, peace, and authenticity. This is the kind of place that stays with you forever, a once-in-a-lifetime escape we will always treasure.

What could be improved: The only unfair thing about Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts is that you eventually have to leave this paradise.

The nature and the coral garden next to the hotel.

What could be improved: The transfer from the airport to the hotel should be included.

It was great being the only hotel on the motu and only accessible by boat, which was such a scenic trip over the water of different shades of tropical blue, being so close to the Coral gardens. The food was really good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. You could relax on the loungers overlooking the azure sea or swim, snorkel paddle or kayak.

What could be improved: I can't think of anything only that our time there was too short.

As close one get get to paradise. Overwater bungalows were amazing, whole property was absolutely beautiful and the facilities were perfect.

What could be improved: Unfortunately, it was booked significantly under capacity, so it was very quiet and at times felt a little bit like it was staffed accordingly.
