Cap Maison Resort & Spa
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Cap Maison Resort & Spa, I honestly wasn’t prepared for how stunning this place would be. Perched on the cliffs of Cap Estate in northern Saint Lucia, this five-star luxury resort feels like someone’s private villa that just happens to accept guests. The entrance doesn’t scream “resort” — it’s more intimate than that, which immediately sets it apart from the mega-properties you’ll find elsewhere on the island.
The Suites and Accommodations
Every room here is actually a suite, and they’ve nailed the balance between Caribbean charm and modern luxury. I stayed in one of their cliff-side suites, and the private terrace became my favorite spot — you’re literally hanging over the ocean with views that stretch all the way to Martinique on clear days. The interiors feel more like a sophisticated beach house than a hotel room, with local artwork and that breezy, lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake.
Dining and Culinary Experience
The Cliff at Cap is their signature restaurant, and it’s genuinely one of the most romantic dining spots I’ve experienced in the Caribbean. Tables are scattered along different cliff levels, so you’re dining practically over the water. The menu leans heavily on fresh local seafood — the mahi-mahi with Creole spices was incredible. But here’s what I appreciated: they also have a more casual option at Naked Fisherman, which sits right on the beach and serves some of the best fish tacos on the island.
Activities and Island Adventures
Now, about the horse riding — this is where Cap Maison really delivers something special. They partner with local stables for beach rides along Smugglers Cove, and honestly, galloping along that stretch of sand with the waves crashing beside you is pure magic. The horses are well-trained and gentle, perfect for both beginners and experienced riders. What’s great is they can arrange sunset rides too, which gives you that golden hour lighting photographers dream about.
Why Guests Love It
The spa deserves a mention — it’s built into the natural rock formations, so you’re getting massages while listening to waves crash below. There’s also a small but gorgeous infinity pool that seems to blend right into the ocean horizon. The service feels genuinely warm rather than stuffy, and the staff remembers your name after day one. It’s luxury without the pretense, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to unwind. The location gives you easy access to the northern part of Saint Lucia’s attractions, but you’ll find yourself wanting to just stay put and soak it all in.

Could be improved
The AC worked ok. Not an issue for us but some might find the steps down to the beach difficult to navigate.

Beautiful resort, beach and views. Very friendly and professional staff. Upgrading to a plunge pool was worth the extra $. The food and drinks were very good to excellent, however a little inconsistent at times. The private wine tasting with the Sommelier (Robbie) was a highlight and would highly recommend to others.
