First Impressions

The architecture feels like it grew out of the cliffs themselves — all clean lines and natural stone that somehow manages to look both ancient and impossibly modern.

What really struck me about the location is how perfectly positioned it is for both equestrian adventures and pure relaxation. Ouranoupoli sits right at the gateway to Mount Athos, which means you’ve got this incredible mix of rugged coastline and rolling hills that are absolutely perfect for horseback riding. The resort actually works with local stables, and I spent a morning riding along trails that wind through olive groves and offer these breathtaking glimpses of the Aegean. You know what’s brilliant? They time the rides so you can catch either sunrise or sunset from the hills — pure magic.

The Room Experience

My room was one of those places where you actually don’t want to leave, which is saying something when you’re surrounded by all that natural beauty outside. The spa treatments are incredible after a day of riding, and there’s something almost ritualistic about unwinding there while listening to the waves. The infinity pool situation is pretty spectacular too — it’s like swimming into the horizon.
