Relais De La Poste
First Impressions
You know what caught me off guard about Relais De La Poste? It’s tucked away on the second floor of a classic Roman building on Via del Corso, so you might walk right past it if you’re not paying attention. But honestly, that’s part of its charm — it feels like discovering a well-kept secret in the heart of Rome. This three-star boutique hotel has this intimate, almost residential feel that’s completely different from those massive chain hotels you see everywhere.
The Heart of Rome
I mean, the location is just ridiculous — and I say that in the best possible way. You’re literally steps from the Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain is maybe a five-minute walk. What really impressed me though was how you can slip down these narrow side streets and suddenly find yourself in quiet piazzas that most tourists never see. The Via del Corso itself is perfect for evening strolls, especially when the shops start closing and the street takes on this completely different personality.
The Room Experience
The rooms here aren’t huge — let’s be honest about that — but they’re thoughtfully designed with classic Roman touches. My room had these beautiful high ceilings and original architectural details that you just don’t get in newer hotels. The bathroom was compact but well-appointed, and I actually loved the old-world charm of the fixtures. What struck me most was how quiet everything was, despite being on one of Rome’s busiest shopping streets.
Daily Rhythms
Breakfast happens in this cozy little space that feels more like someone’s dining room than a hotel restaurant. It’s simple but satisfying — fresh pastries, good coffee (this is Italy, after all), and they’ll make you feel like a regular even if you’re only staying a few nights. The staff here really knows their stuff about the neighborhood, too. They pointed me toward this tiny trattoria around the corner that I never would have found otherwise.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing — couples absolutely adore this place, and after staying here, I totally get why. There’s something romantic about the intimate scale and the way you feel like you’re living in Rome rather than just visiting it. The combination of being right in the action but having this peaceful retreat to come back to is pretty special. Plus, when you can walk to the Pantheon for morning coffee and be back for an afternoon nap, you start to understand why people fall in love with Roman life. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails that sweet spot of authentic Roman hospitality with just enough modern comfort to keep you happy.

Could be improved
The only thing I did not enjoy was the very narrow corridor to pass thru to get to the room but it was a minor obstacle.
