Relais De La Poste Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Relais De La Poste on Via del Corso, you might miss it if you’re not looking carefully — it’s tucked away on the second floor of a classic Roman building. There’s something charming about this three-star boutique hotel that feels more like discovering a well-kept secret than checking into a typical tourist spot. The entrance has that understated Italian elegance where everything looks effortlessly put together, though you know someone’s paying attention to every detail.
Location & Neighborhood
Honestly, the location is what sold me on this place. You’re right in the heart of Rome‘s shopping district, but once you step inside, the chaos of Via del Corso just melts away. The Spanish Steps are literally a three-minute walk — I timed it because I’m that kind of person — and the Pantheon is close enough that you’ll probably end up there for your morning coffee. What I love is that you’re in the thick of everything, but the hotel itself feels like a quiet refuge from all that Roman intensity.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this lovely mix of traditional Roman character and modern comfort that actually works. High ceilings, original hardwood floors, and these gorgeous shuttered windows that open right onto the bustling street below. Sure, it can get a bit noisy during the day, but there’s something romantic about falling asleep to the distant hum of Roman nightlife. The bathrooms are compact but thoughtfully designed — you know, European-style efficiency that somehow doesn’t feel cramped.
Dining & Hospitality
There isn’t a full restaurant on-site, which initially worried me, but it turned out to be perfect. The breakfast spread they put together each morning is simple but really well done — fresh pastries, excellent coffee, and local ingredients that taste like they were picked up from the market that morning. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay memorable, offering restaurant recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist traps. They pointed me toward this tiny trattoria around the corner that I never would’ve found on my own.
Why Guests Love It
What makes this place special isn’t any single grand gesture — it’s the accumulation of small things done right. The way the morning light filters through those old Roman shutters, how the concierge remembers your name after one conversation, the fact that you can walk to most major sights but still feel like you’re experiencing the real Rome rather than some sanitized version of it. With a rating of 9 out of 10, other guests clearly feel the same way I do about this hidden gem. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something authentic in a city that can sometimes feel overwhelmed by tourism.

The location was superb, the staff very friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable and clean. Loved the shower experience, the water was hot and the bathroom was well equipped.
What could be improved: The only thing I did not enjoy was the very narrow corridor to pass thru to get to the room but it was a minor obstacle.
