Palais Ronsard Relais & Chateaux Overview
First Impressions
The moment you arrive at Palais Ronsard Relais & Chateaux, you realize this isn’t your typical Marrakech hotel experience. Tucked away in the Palmeraie — that’s the palm grove area about 20 minutes from the medina’s chaos — this five-star property feels more like you’re staying at a friend’s impossibly elegant private estate. The architecture here is pure Moroccan sophistication, with those honey-colored walls and intricate zellige tilework that catches the light just right as the sun moves across the desert sky.
The Palmeraie Setting
I’ll be honest, staying in the Palmeraie instead of central Marrakech was the best decision I made. You’re surrounded by actual palm trees and desert landscape, not tourist crowds and scooter exhaust. The property sits on these sprawling grounds where you can actually hear birds singing instead of constant honking. When you do want to hit Jemaa el-Fnaa or the souks, the hotel arranges transport — but honestly, after a day exploring the medina, returning to this peaceful oasis feels like pure luxury.
Accommodations and Amenities
Each room here is essentially a suite with its own character — mine had this gorgeous private terrace overlooking the gardens where I spent most mornings with mint tea. The interiors blend traditional Moroccan craftsmanship with modern comfort in a way that doesn’t feel forced or theme-park-ish. The bathrooms are particularly impressive, with deep soaking tubs and locally-sourced argan oil products that actually smell amazing. There’s also a stunning spa on-site where they do this incredible traditional hammam experience that’s worth every dirham.
Equestrian Excellence
Now, the horseback riding — which is probably why you’re reading this — is absolutely exceptional. The stables house beautiful Arabian and Barb horses that are clearly well-cared for and properly trained. You can do everything from gentle walks through the palm groves to more challenging desert treks that take you out into the Atlas foothills. The guides know the area intimately and can tailor rides to your experience level. I mean, there’s something magical about cantering through ancient olive groves with the snow-capped Atlas Mountains in the distance that photos just can’t capture.
Why Guests Love It
The restaurant serves this incredible fusion of French technique with Moroccan ingredients — their tagine is probably the best I had during my entire Morocco trip, and that’s saying something. The service throughout the property strikes that perfect balance of attentive without being hovering, and the staff genuinely seems to enjoy sharing their knowledge about the region. What really sets this place apart though is how it manages to feel authentically Moroccan while providing all the luxury amenities you’d expect from a Relais & Chateaux property. It’s expensive, sure, but for a special occasion or if you’re serious about experiencing Morocco’s equestrian culture in style, it’s absolutely worth it.

The property was beautiful, though a bit further out and tucked away. We did encounter some issues, our shower head wasn’t working the first night, so maintenance had to come the following day to fix it. Overall, our stay was good, and I especially enjoyed the soaking tub. What could be improved: It’s far from the central area, and transportation...

Stunning hotel. Wonderful staff. Incredible beds. Excellent breakfast! Greet cocktails by the fire. Well equipped gym. Beautiful spa. Lovely grounds.
What could be improved: Room service was a little slow. We found dinner and the cost of dinner expensive compared to a simialr standard in central Marrakech.
Wafa from United Arab Emirates (24 December 2025)
The design, specious rooms , excellent cleanliness and services
What could be improved: The location is fine however the way to the hotel needs to be looked at in terms of street lights and sign boards , because at night time it is soo easy to get lost in the pitch dark area .

Everything I recommend it strongly for couples
What could be improved: Nothing

Superb building, pool and gardens. Strong Wifi. Quality products in bathrooms, etc. Very nice food in restaurant. Staff were mostly excellent. The management were swift to resolve issues. Overall, this is a luxury hotel. What could be improved: We had a couple of issues during our stay, but everyone tried their best to resolve them and compensate...

Beautiful overall and stunning rooms. It feels like a special place. Pool area is lovely and the gym was well appointed. Most staff were very good and attentive.
What could be improved: Restaurant service is a bit slow, breakfast is repetitive. Pool drinks are far too expensive for Marrakech.
Amy from United Kingdom (9 October 2025)
Exquisite hotel. Gorgeous grounds and pool area, kind and welcoming staff. Like entering an absolute paradise. Rooms are huge and incredibly beautiful. Fireplace in the room was magical. Probably the most romantic hotel I've ever visited. So, so lush. What could be improved: The only area of the hotel that could use improvement is the restaurant...
