The Equestrian Experience
What really sets this place apart is how seamlessly they’ve woven horseback riding into the whole experience. The stables are just a short walk from the main building, and the horses — well, they’re absolutely gorgeous. I spent mornings riding along the coastal trails that wind down toward the Mediterranean, and honestly, there’s nothing quite like watching the sunrise over the Corsican mountains from horseback. The guides know these paths like the back of their hand, taking you through olive groves and up to viewpoints that most visitors never see.
Accommodations & Amenities
My room was actually more like a small suite, with floor-to-ceiling windows that opened onto a private terrace overlooking the bay. The interiors blend traditional Corsican elements with modern comfort — think exposed stone walls, crisp white linens, and that perfect Mediterranean light filtering through everything. The spa downstairs became my afternoon ritual after long rides, and I mean, after hours in the saddle, those deep tissue massages were absolutely essential.
Dining & Local Flavors
The restaurant here deserves its own mention — Chef Laurent (who’s been here for years) creates these incredible dishes that somehow capture the essence of Corsica on every plate. You’ll find yourself lingering over dinner on the terrace, with that gentle breeze coming up from the water and the lights of Calvi’s old citadel twinkling below. They source most ingredients locally, and you can actually taste the difference — the tomatoes, the herbs, even the cheese has this intensity that you just don’t get anywhere else.
