The concierge actually rides herself and can match you with everything from gentle walking tours through piñon and juniper forests to more challenging rides up into the aspen groves, depending on the season.

The Room

Each room here is basically a work of art — and I mean that literally, since owner Ira Seret has filled the place with museum-quality pieces from Tibet, India, and Turkey. My suite had this incredible hand-carved four-poster bed from Rajasthan and textiles that probably cost more than most people’s cars. The bathrooms are particularly stunning, with stone soaking tubs and rainfall showers that make you want to linger way longer than necessary. You know what really got me though? The heated bathroom floors — pure luxury when you’re getting ready for an early morning ride in the high desert.

Dining and Atmosphere

There isn’t a traditional restaurant on-site, but that’s actually part of the charm. Instead, you get this incredibly personalized dining experience where they’ll arrange private meals in your courtyard or even pack gourmet picnic lunches for longer rides. The staff works with some of Santa Fe’s best chefs to create these amazing New Mexican fusion dishes — think green chile risotto or elk tenderloin with local piñon nuts. After a long day in the saddle, there’s nothing quite like having dinner served under the stars in your own private space.
