Manoir de Lan Kérellec Overview
First Impressions
Manoir de Lan Kérellec sits on the Brittany coast like it’s always belonged there — which, honestly, it probably has for centuries. This four-star manor house overlooks the Pink Granite Coast near Trébeurden, and when you first pull up that tree-lined drive, you get why it’s scored a 9.3 rating. The stone facade has that weathered elegance that only comes with time, and the views? Well, they’re the kind that make you forget to check your phone.
The Equestrian Experience
What really sets this place apart for horse lovers is its proximity to some of Brittany’s best riding terrain. The hotel works with local stables just a few kilometers away, and you can arrange everything from beach gallops along the Côte de Granit Rose to woodland trails through the Armorican hills. I mean, there’s something pretty magical about riding Breton horses along coastline that’s been shaped by thousands of years of Atlantic storms. The staff actually knows their equestrian stuff too — they’ll match you with the right stable based on your experience level.
Rooms and Comfort
My room faced the sea, which meant waking up to views that change with every tide. The interiors strike this nice balance between traditional Breton charm and modern comfort — think exposed beams but with excellent WiFi and a proper shower. Some rooms have little balconies where you can sit with morning coffee and watch the boats heading out from the harbor. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in historic properties), and there’s enough space to spread out your riding gear without feeling cramped.
Dining and Local Flavors
The restaurant here deserves its own mention. Chef focuses on local seafood and produces from nearby farms, so you’re getting the real taste of Brittany — not some tourist version of it. After a day in the saddle, their seafood platters hit just right, especially paired with a crisp Muscadet. Breakfast is proper too, with local pastries and that strong French coffee that actually wakes you up. You know what I appreciated? They don’t rush you out, so you can linger over that second cup while planning your next ride.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t one of those places trying to be everything to everyone. Manoir de Lan Kérellec does what it does well — provides an authentic base for exploring this stunning part of Brittany, whether you’re here for the horses or just the incredible coastal scenery. The 9.3 rating makes sense when you consider that guests consistently mention the attentive service and the way the hotel helps arrange local experiences. Parking is included and secure, which matters when you’re hauling riding equipment around. It’s the sort of place where you arrive as a guest but leave feeling like you’ve discovered a little secret along the Breton coast.

The hotel lies in a quite residential street but still central. We had a spacious room with a large balcony offering a stunning sea view. Couldn’t get enough of it.
If you have the opportunity join the fine dining experience offered several days per week. It’s definitely worth it.

Beautiful hotel, cosy, comfortable room, spotlessly clean. Very friendly, attentive and helpful staff . We had a garden room with sunbeds and a magnificent view of the sea. Food was delicious at dinner and the breakfast was superb. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

James from France (29 March 2025)
Did not have breakfast.
What could be improved: I would have preferred a conventional kettle in the room to make tea. The capsule coffee machine did not work properly.
Margaret from United Kingdom (13 June 2024)
