First Impressions
You know that moment when you arrive somewhere and immediately think “okay, this is going to be special”? That’s exactly what happens when you first see Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts. This five-star resort sits on its own private motu — basically a tiny coral island — and honestly, the boat transfer from Taha’a island feels like you’re being whisked away to your own personal paradise. The overwater bungalows stretch out into the lagoon like something from a postcard, but what really gets you is how intimate everything feels despite being undeniably luxurious.
Location & Setting
Here’s what makes this place incredible — you’re positioned perfectly between Taha’a and Bora Bora, so you get these absolutely stunning views of Mount Otemanu across the water. The couples who stay here are onto something (they rate the location nearly perfect), because there’s something magical about being on your own little island while still having easy access to Taha’a’s vanilla plantations and pearl farms. The lagoon here is this impossible shade of turquoise that changes throughout the day, and I mean, you’re literally surrounded by coral gardens that you can snorkel right from your suite.
The Suites
The overwater suites are what everyone comes for, and they don’t disappoint — each one has a glass floor panel where you can watch tropical fish swimming beneath your feet. But honestly? The beds might be even better than the views, which is saying something. They’re ridiculously comfortable, the kind where you actually look forward to bedtime. The suites feel authentically Polynesian with thatched roofs and natural materials, but you’ve got all the luxury touches — deep soaking tubs, private decks with direct lagoon access, and these outdoor showers that make you feel like you’re bathing in a tropical garden.
Dining & Activities
Breakfast here is this wonderful mix of American classics and local flavors served buffet-style, though you’ll probably want to have it delivered to your deck at least once — there’s something about eating fresh tropical fruit while watching the sunrise over Bora Bora that just hits different. The resort keeps things interesting with a tennis court (surprisingly fun when there’s a gentle trade wind), a well-equipped fitness center, and some of the best fishing in French Polynesia. What I really appreciate is that they don’t overwhelm you with activities — sometimes the best thing to do is just float in that incredible lagoon.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t just another luxury resort — it’s the kind of place that makes you understand why people save up for once-in-a-lifetime trips to French Polynesia. The staff genuinely cares about making your stay special, the setting is absolutely breathtaking, and there’s this perfect balance between having everything you need and feeling completely disconnected from the world. Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary or just need to reset, Le Taha’a delivers that magical Polynesian experience without feeling touristy or overdone. It’s expensive, sure, but when you’re watching the sunset paint Mount Otemanu pink from your private deck, you’ll understand why it’s worth every penny.

Everything, it's a rare gem among hotels and worth every single penny. I rank it higher than the four seasons in Bora Bora. The staff is the best, they are pure warmth and very friendly. Our private beach room was very comfortable, clean, large, and cultural (gorgeous art and design). It is quiet and zero mosquito issues in the room. ***Crystal...

This was our third visit to this amazing resort. We love it so much we brought 4 other couples with us to experience this paradise. They all fell in love just as us and plan to return soon. Thank you once again for your exceptional service and overwhelming kindness.

Very friendly staff and the overwater villa is amazing. We had a really great time. Will definitely come come back. Food is also good. People complain unnecesarry about the transport from Raistea airport but they offer a free shuttle from Taha'a island.

Beautiful location,gorgeous rooms.
Could be improved
There is nothing around it so you have to eat at one of the 3 restaurants of the resort, that’s a bit restrictive.
Laura
Absolutely everything: the location is stunning, the gardens manicured, but, overall, the staff is fantastic. The resort is not too big, extremely peaceful and private.

Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts is a hidden gem in French Polynesia — intimate, authentic, and utterly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived by boat, we felt transported to another world: a private island surrounded by turquoise lagoons, lush gardens, and the scent of vanilla carried on the breeze. Our overwater villa at the very end of the pontoon...

It was great being the only hotel on the motu and only accessible by boat, which was such a scenic trip over the water of different shades of tropical blue, being so close to the Coral gardens. The food was really good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. You could relax on the loungers overlooking the azure sea or swim, snorkel paddle or...

As close one get get to paradise. Overwater bungalows were amazing, whole property was absolutely beautiful and the facilities were perfect.

Unfortunately, it was booked significantly under capacity, so it was very quiet and at times felt a little bit like it was staffed accordingly.
