Bellevue Hotel & SPA Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Bellevue Hotel & SPA feels like discovering a secret that locals have been keeping to themselves. This five-star luxury retreat sits right in the heart of Cogne, where the Italian Alps create this incredible backdrop that honestly makes you forget you’re still on planet Earth. The building itself has this elegant mountain sophistication — you know, the kind where rustic charm meets serious luxury without trying too hard.
The Equestrian Experience
What really sets this place apart is how seamlessly they’ve woven horse riding into the whole experience. The hotel works with local stables that know these mountain trails like the back of their hand, and I mean trails that wind through the Gran Paradiso National Park — it’s absolutely spectacular. You’ll find yourself riding through ancient forests and alpine meadows where the only sounds are hoofbeats and maybe the distant call of an ibex. The guides here actually grew up in these mountains, so they share stories about the area that you’d never get from a guidebook.
Rooms and Luxury Touches
My room had this perfect balance of Alpine coziness and modern luxury — think warm wood accents, plush fabrics, and windows that frame the mountains like living artwork. The beds are ridiculously comfortable (I’m talking sink-right-in luxury), and the bathrooms feature local stone that makes you feel connected to the landscape even indoors. What surprised me was the attention to small details — like how they leave riding boot cleaning supplies if you mention you’re planning equestrian activities.
Spa and Dining
After a day in the saddle, the spa becomes your best friend. They use local Alpine herbs in their treatments, and honestly, there’s something magical about unwinding in their thermal pools while snow-capped peaks watch over you. The restaurant focuses on Aosta Valley specialties — I had this incredible carbonada (local beef stew) that warmed me from the inside out. The chef sources ingredients from nearby farms, some of which you might actually ride past during your mountain excursions.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t just another luxury mountain hotel — it’s a place where serious equestrians and casual riders alike find their perfect Alpine adventure. The staff genuinely cares about matching your riding experience to your skill level, and parking is never an issue (which matters when you’re hauling riding gear). Cogne itself feels like this authentic Italian mountain village where tourism hasn’t completely taken over, and the Bellevue captures that same authentic spirit. You’ll leave feeling like you’ve discovered something special rather than just checked another luxury hotel off your list.

A really charming, traditional style, family run hotel. We loved the location, which is not only convenient but is set in the most picturesque spot overlooking the valley. Our room was charming and comfortable, just like the rest of the hotel, which is filled with paintings, portraits, local antiques and history. The Spa is fabulous too. 5...

This is a hotel that goes above and beyond in every aspect, yet does it in an unassuming and quiet way. If you care to look it's obvious how much thought has been put in to each detail. It is well-deserving of the Michelin recognition it has achieved. The location is to die for; the hotel manages to feel quaint while at the same time being quite...
