First Impressions
Walking into Anantara The Marker Dublin- A Leading Hotel of the World honestly feels like stepping into something special — and I mean that in the best possible way. This five-star property sits right on Grand Canal Square in Dublin‘s buzzing Docklands, where the glass towers meet the water and everything feels surprisingly modern for a city steeped in history. The lobby hits you with this sophisticated elegance that’s unmistakably luxury without being stuffy about it.
The Equestrian Experience
What really sets this place apart for horse enthusiasts is their connection to Ireland’s incredible riding culture — they’ll arrange everything from leisurely hacks through Phoenix Park to serious equestrian adventures in the Dublin Mountains. The concierge team actually knows their stuff when it comes to local stables and riding schools, which isn’t something you find everywhere. You can easily arrange day trips to the Irish National Stud or even multi-day riding tours through the Wicklow countryside, all while having this stunning hotel as your home base.
Location & Neighborhood
The Docklands location is actually brilliant for exploring Dublin — you’re walking distance to Trinity College, Temple Bar, and all the classic spots, but you’re staying in this sleek, contemporary area that feels like Dublin’s answer to London’s Canary Wharf. The Grand Canal Theatre is literally next door, and there’s this great energy around the square with locals grabbing coffee and tourists figuring out their next move. Plus, getting to the countryside for riding is surprisingly easy from here.
The Room and Amenities
The room I stayed in had these floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the canal — honestly, watching Dublin wake up from bed was pretty magical. Everything feels thoughtfully designed, from the marble bathrooms to the way they’ve arranged the furniture to maximize those city views. The spa downstairs is where you’ll want to unwind after a day in the saddle, and the restaurant serves this elevated Irish cuisine that actually respects local ingredients rather than trying to be too clever about it.
Why Guests Love It
I think what really works about this place is how it manages to feel both thoroughly Irish and completely international at the same time. The staff genuinely cares about making your equestrian plans work — they’re not just handing you a brochure and wishing you luck. And honestly, after spending days exploring Dublin’s riding scene, coming back to this level of comfort and service makes the whole experience feel seamless. It’s the kind of place where luxury meets practicality, which is exactly what you want when you’re planning active days around horses.

Beautiful modern and comfortable, flawless after our hiccup on our arrival. What could be improved: Being told there was no tables for a meal after driving for 3 hours in the car, then being told we could not even sit in bar area and wait for a table to come free, I admit it was just handled poorly but in the end we got sorted after our...

The room, the staff, the breakfast, everything was exceptional. Everyone was very well trained so the service was simply top notch.

The spa could use a little TLC - many tiles were missing in the steam room and some jets in the jacuzzi were broken. This did not impact our stay but an hotel of this caliber should fix it asap

Every member of staff was friendly, kind, warm and helpful! It is very rare to find that in a hotel. They made our New Year’s Eve stay wonderful and so much fun! Spa was gorgeous. Rooms were spacious, warm and comfortable. Room service food was delicious! They let us get onto the roof bar for the fireworks and had champagne too! Absolutely perfect...

The decor in our room was dark and lighting poor.
